Overview & Reviews
The Grand Prix underwent a redesign for 2004, but those familiar with the big sedan will find its blend of performance and comfort hasn't changed much.
- Strong supercharged V6, nimble handling, attractive gauges, easy-to-use controls, big trunk, fold-flat front-passenger seat.
- Build and materials quality still needs work, tight backseat, noisy engine, not enough storage or cupholders, no auto climate control.

The best car - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Mike007 - August 18 - 10:00 amThe Grand Prix is a very fun to drive car. This car as really great horse power. Grand Prix rides well and the onstar is handy. It gets me where I Need to go in good time. I think it as a really sporty look for a four door. Every body just looks at you.

By GTPcompg - August 18 - 10:00 amThis car is a blast to drive!!! The only thing a can say to knock it is the car payment every month. The car I bought has every option that you can get. I would definalty purchase the XM radio option. I wish my other car had it.

2004 GT2 - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Fred Flinstone - August 18 - 10:00 amI purchased this car via carsdirect.com (a great buying experience) and it was delivered to a dealer in my area. The car was perfect upon arrival. There was (and still is) zero defects with the car. Every part works. This is the first car I have ever bought that I can make that claim with. The car handles exceptionally for its class and is well powered. I have to say, I love it and so does everyone who has been in this car.

Love this car! - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Liz K - July 17 - 6:26 pmI love this car. It has a very smooth ride, and very quick pick up! Sometimes I dont even realize that Im speeding because of the smoothness. The dashboard is very easy to read/see and I love the drivers info center. I also like the way the console with the DIC and radio are tilted towards the driver for easy access. Having the radio controls on the steering wheel also are great. It took me a little bit of time to get used to the placement of the cruise control. Having it low on the steering wheel was difficult to use at first, but I got the hang of it within a week or two. The trunk is huge and I love the split rear seats. Much better than my last GP that had only had a pass through.

Finally Paid Off - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Lance - June 5 - 4:40 pmI bought my 2004 with 24,000 miles on it. A factory exhaust system was installed. Good car until the 40,000 mile mark. Took it in for my routine oil change, and was told that there were particles of metal in transmission fluid. I did a trans flush and added Lucas Trans Lube to it. It took 2 full flushes to get all of the metal out of the system. Now at 88,000 miles, I was told, again, by a new mechanic that my trans fluid needs to be changed. The manual calls for 1 trans change at 100,000 miles. This would now make it 3 flushes in 88,000 miles. Check gas cap and check eng light came on at 65,000 miles. Computer says theres a leak in the exhaust manifold. Trading in before I dump money in it.

Safety - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By fivej - May 29 - 2:00 amIt was too cold outside to open a window and I had to pick up a solid 8 foot drapery rod. I really appreciated the passthrough. My only disappointment is that I read today that the Grand Prix was on the bottom of the Nat Safety Test. 3 stars only.
